World Record Library Fine

Kudos to this family for "doin' the right thing":

Emily Canellos-Simms has received a Guinness World Record for the largest book fine ever paid at more than $345.

She found the book, Days and Deeds, a book of children's poems in her mother's house that was due back at the Kewanee Public Library in Illinois on April 19, 1955.

Wonder if the library even knew this thing was past-due?  I guess "yes" since fines were still accumulating on it.

An easier way out would have been to declare the book lost and purchase the library a new copy.

I just checked Amazon...... that would have cost them less than $50.

But, they showed integrity.  Which is a great thing and is what this country needs so, SO much more of.

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
