New Words 13

Came across some more "new" words & phrases.

This is set #13 of these that I've posted here on MattChat.

As with previous posts, these are not necessarily "brand new"...... just new to me:  words that I've come across recently which I do not recall hearing before.

Broken Heart Syndrome:  a temporary condition that affects the heart. In people with this condition, extreme emotional or physical stress (i.e. intense grief, anger, surprise, illness or surgery) can lead to heart muscle failure.

stagflation: an economic cycle characterized by slow growth and a high unemployment rate accompanied by inflation. Economic policymakers find this combination particularly difficult to handle, as attempting to correct one of the factors can exacerbate another.

Minor-attracted person (MAP): a person who experiences sexual or romantic attractions towards people under the local age of consent - sometimes applied universally to the age of 18.

Digital blackface: occurs when non-Black people use photos of Black people to express their own emotions or reactions; for example, a white person using a GIF of Oprah shrugging to express their thoughts, or a white person using hand emojis in a skin color darker than their own.

Ally-shoring: the process by which countries rework critical supply chains and source essential materials, goods, and services among and between trusted democratic partners and allies, with a focus on investing in the short and long-term relationships that protect and enhance joint economic and national security.

Penile fracture: a rare but dramatic occurrence in which the outer sheath surrounding the erectile cylinders of the penis ruptures under the force of a strong blow to the erect penis.

Weenus: a slang word for the excess or loose skin at the joint of one's elbow, which is technically referred to as olecranal skin.

angertainer: personalities who utilize anger and/or intimidation as a means of gaining popularity and status

gas fees (in the world of cryptocurrency): the amount of Ether (ETH) required for an Ethereum blockchain network user to conduct a transaction on the network.  Gas fees are used to compensate Ethereum miners for their work in verifying transactions and securing the network.

That last one:  WHAAAAAAAAT?????

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
