New Words 16

Came across some more "new" words & phrases.

This is set #16 of these that I've posted here on MattChat.

As with previous posts, these are not necessarily "brand new"...... just new to me:  words that I've come across recently which I do not recall hearing before.

lucifer matches: slang for strike-anywhere matches that were developed in the early 1800s using dangerous white phosphorus paste

testicle bath (AKA genital jacuzzi): contraceptive method for males utilizing ultrasound and heat

protactile: a dialect of American Sign Language that communicates with touch

great green wall: an African-led movement with an epic ambition to grow an 8,000km natural wonder of the world across the entire width of Africa

Lotus birth: the decision to leave your baby’s umbilical cord attached after they are born;  the umbilical cord remains attached to the placenta until it dries and falls off by itself

willy warmer (AKA jimmy jacket, AKA schlong sweater, AKA peter heater): a stocking/covering for the male anatomy

"ice missile" law: requires drivers to clean off all the snow and ice from their cars before driving, or be subject to fine

doomsday glacier: nickname for Antarctica's Thwaites Glacier, larger than the state of Florida and one of the widest glaciers on Earth
