Haiti History

What a sad & depressing mess in Haiti.

---

Since late February, armed gangs have attacked public institutions including the capital's police stations and the international airport which remains closed.

During the curfew and state of emergency imposed in early March, “the police are ordered to use all legal means at their disposal" to enforce order.

---

Armed groups have disrupted fuel supplies, preventing fuel trucks from entering the strategic Varreux fuel terminal in Haiti's capital and leaving gas stations deserted.

---

Gunmen have assaulted two upscale neighborhoods in Haiti's capital in an attack that left at least a dozen people dead in surrounding areas and suggested that a gang insurrection that prompted the prime minister to resign is far from over.

---

Such a trying time for so many innocents.  Danger & darkness all around them.

One of the articles I was reading about the unrest included a timeline of major events in Haiti's past.  And man, did it open my eyes!  The country has been plagued with natural disasters, corruption, and all sorts of evil crap basically since Chris Columbus discovered Hispaniola.

Look at this disastrous history; so little positivity amongst a wealth of negative happenings:

And please take a read thru this article by author Mitch Albom who was evacuated from Haiti just a few days ago:

Nightmarish conditions down there.  In a country that already had nightmarish conditions.  Yeesh!

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
