This part of Central Illinois had a couple of significant hailstorms earlier in 2024 that did a number on shingle roofs.
Shingles being sent to the recycler (hopefully) or landfill could make a world of difference for those living in leaky shacks.
There are roofers everywhere! Ringing doorbells. Placing signs in yards. Putting all sorts of men to work up on the rooftops.
This is why we buy insurance, right?
Although, as I see roof after roof after roof being torn off, I can't help but think of people living like this:
What we view as damaged/end-of-life would be such an upgrade/improvement for those who have nothing.
Our waste could be a life-changer for others. Keeping them dry. Keeping them cool.
Yes, insurance is a blessing.
