New Words 34

Came across some more "new" words & phrases.

This is set #34 of these that I've posted here on MattChat.

FRIENDLY DISCLAIMER:
As with previous posts, these are not necessarily "brand new"...... just new to me:  words that I've come across recently which I do not recall hearing before.

(I sure hope that one of the words below wasn't included on an earlier "New Words" post...... 'cause that forgetfulness would make me look just a tad bit OLD)

phos-chek: primary aerial retardant used in western wildfires;  the red liquid contains approx 10% ammonium phosphate fertilizer solution that sticks to plants and inhibits combustion

renocrite: a person well-known for speaking from both sides of their mouth

Renocrete: pre-colored, spray-on or trowel-on, cement-based polymer modified concrete resurfacing system

bubble butt syndrome (AKA positive buoyancy syndrome): condition in sea turtles where trauma, often from boat strikes, causes their shells to deform, trapping air, making it difficult for them to swim normally or dive

tourist trap:  in entomology, plants that use sticky substances or hooked structures to trap insects

Linabell: smart pink fox character introduced at Shanghai Disneyland in 2021

nene: endangered goose of the Hawaiian Islands

grey drinking: increasingly common pattern of alcohol consumption that falls somewhere between social drinking and alcoholism

blackdamp (AKA chokedamp, stythe): atmosphere in which a flame lamp will not burn, usually because of an excess of carbon dioxide and nitrogen in the air

white dwarf: dense, Earth-sized remnant of a collapsed star that has exhausted its nuclear fuel

Maybe you already knew 7 or 8 or 9 of these?  Surely not all 10???

If so, kudos to you..... especially on that Linabell one!

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
