we had an awesome day with family! I helped cook burgers, got a great hockey jersey, and saw some of the coolest and most-thought-out raised garden beds ever!!! plus learned that there is such a thing as a white marigold.
any guesses for the route home? (hint: we were boring today..... reverse the above route)

key notes:
(1) picked up 2 riders in Bloomington to fill empty seats in van (a)
(2) Harley bike club from Chicago had nearly every pump at gas station occupied; Corrie wouldn't let me join them.... or even get their autographs
(3) kudos to cheerful gal on the headset at McD's; if I had a business, you could be my "great attitude specialist"
(4) what the thunder?!? there's a pickup on the railroad tracks!!
(5) potty break at Casey's -- yes, only 20 minutes in to our trip home.... it was a "gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now" stop
(6) freight train was going approximately 436 miles per hour; incredible!
(7) huge strawberry statue in back of pickup; no sign of large chocolate fondue set though
(8) Avanti's! need I say more?
(9) dropped our 2 riders off; they were very pleasant although I think my driving scared them a couple times :)
(10) rushed to get here for fireworks, which ended up being cancelled pretty much right as we pulled into town
(a) riders were Father in Law and Mother in Law
great day, great trip.
