yesterday, a co-worker and I were discussing honeymoons.
yes, I know that sounds a little weird. especially since both the discussor and the discussee were dudes.
anyway, try to look past that please.
we got off on the subject of travel. where would i want to go if the tickets were purchased for me and my calendar was cleared up for a couple weeks?
first place i mentioned was Ireland and Scotland. i guess that's 2 places, right? same part of the world though.
everything i hear about these 2 countries just screams "interesting": beautiful green. seascapes. castles. lucky charms. leprechauns. bagpipes. kilts.
England... right next door to those 2.... no interest.
i mentioned Iceland as well. one of my favorite TV shows "The Amazing Race" was there a few seasons back, and it was stunningly gorgeous. glaciers. waterfalls. hot springs. how cool would it be to see all this?
Alaska is on the list too. beautiful country up there, or so people say. i might want to do a cruise. or, just fly into Juneau or Anchorage, get a rental car, and make a big circle across the state. note to self: bring snow boots.
Another that we discussed is Spain. i remember my fantastic high school Spanish teacher Penny Clay tell stories all about Spain. there's something Don Quixote-y about that country that intrigues me.
Australia would be awesome too.
what else? somewhere in the Caribbean would be cool, i think. Aruba? Jamaica? Kokomo? (reference to the Beach Boys there, y'all)
South America. not so much.
Africa and Asia. not so much.
Antarctica. no thanks.
oh yeah.... Walla Walla! gotta get there!
