25 Dangerous Illinois Cities

Most dangerous city in Illinois?

Chicago? no

East St. Louis?  nopers.

Kewanee.

JK! JK!  JK!!

It's Harvey.

Harvey?

Up in Cook County, outside of Chi-town.
Apparently not much of a safe place.

Here's how Harvey is described on their official city website:

The slogan "A New City Rising" just begins to describe the progressive nature of Harvey, Illinois. Located at the junctions of major interstates as well as four national and multinational railroad lines, the community has typically been "on the go," with a variety of ethnic backgrounds mixing in the community.

That's so nice.  Touching actually.

Wonder why they don't mention their little crime problem?

Yeah, I spotted a list yesterday that ranks the top 25 most dangerous Illinois cities.

Some organization called "Law Street Media" used FBI data from 2013 to compile the list. It's based off of violent crime rates per 100,000 people.

The list of 25 is below.
See where your favorite IL city ranks.

I was surprised Champaign was top 5.

Out for now......

Matt
