NFL Top Sellers

Every quarter, the NFL Players Inc. (NFLPI) releases their Top 50 Player Sales List which is based on total overall sales of all officially licensed products from online and traditional retail outlets as reported by more than 80 NFLPI licensees such as Nike, Fanatics, Outerstuff, Fathead and McFarlane Toys.

Since the Super Bowl is right around the corner, let's take a look at the just-released Top 20 for the quarter ended November 2014:

1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

2. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

3. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers

4. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys

5. Tom Brady, New England Patriots

6. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

7. J.J. Watt, Houston Texans

8. Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks

9. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles

10. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks

11. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys

12. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

13. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

14. Johnny Manziel, Cleveland Browns

15. DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys

16. Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears

17. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

18. Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles

19. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions

20. Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers

The Seattle Seahawks have an NFL high five players in the top 50 including Wilson (No. 2), Richard Sherman (No. 8), Marshawn Lynch (No. 10), Earl Thomas (No. 29) and Kam Chancellor (No. 31). The top-ranked defensive player was Houston Texan J.J. Watt, who moved up three spots and ranks No. 7 overall. Watt is the runaway favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award and an MVP candidate.

Four rookies cracked the top 50 including Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel (No. 14), Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (No. 21), Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins (No. 38) and Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (No. 50). Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray, who led the NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards, made the biggest jump moving from outside the top 50 to No. 15.

Note there's not a single kicker on that Top 20 list.

As previously discussed here on MattChat, I believe the position of kicker is greatly underrated:

No question about it..... kickers are taken for granted.

I would be very proud to wear the jersey of a kicker.

A Robbie Gould jersey..... yup, very cool.

(Way cooler than Tom Brady or Jason Witten.)

I'd wear one..... if only I could find one.

Out for now.......

Matt
