The building/gym is still in use, but the color scheme and mascot you see here changed many years ago.
Gone is the purple and gold.
Gone is the bulldog.
(All that has been replaced by some freaky-looking purple and orange Titan.)
But the memories of the stuff that took place in this gym during my years at Kansas Schools remain......
- whiffle ball games during PE with Mr. Lord
- donkey basketball
- all sorts of assemblies, holiday events, and pep rallies
- keeping scorebook and announcing for high school basketball games (sitting side-by-side with one of the greatest guys I will ever know -- thanks Rich C.)
- lugging cartloads of soda thru the gym on my way to the pop machine in the teachers' lounge
- helping push-in or pull-out the sections of (heavy) bleachers
- PE warm-ups (jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, leg lifts) with Mrs. McCarty
- performance by The Power Team
- high school graduation
There's no place like home.
