Forbes has released their 2015 "Global 2000" report which, among other things, contains a listing of the world's 2,000 largest public companies.
And they are.......
1. ICBC (China)
2. China Construction Bank
3. Agricultural Bank of China
4. Bank of China
5. Berkshire Hathaway
6. J P Morgan Chase
7. Exxon Mobil
8. Petro China
9. General Electric
10. Wells Fargo
The top 4 -- and 5 of the top 10 -- are Chinese.
Think about that, folks.
And what about public companies based in Illinois? Here's the top ten:
1. Boeing
2. Caterpillar
3. Walgreens
4. Mondelez
5. Allstate
6. McDonalds
7. John Deere
8. Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)
9. Abbott Labs
10. Exelon
#2 and #8 are huge here in Decatur.
Plus, #3 and #6 are well-represented, too.
