It's that time of year when Merriam-Webster announces which new words will be added to their dictionary.
New words! How exciting!

At the same time, the folks who oversee the dictionary for the Scrabble board game are adding a bunch too:

SHOOTIE
CAKEHOLE

BLECH
SHIZZLE
Can you imagine what these lists of new words looked like back in the 70's and 80's?
I'm sure that there's some website out there somewhere that lists all the dictionary adds thru the years.
And what about the drops? The words that get removed from the dictionary?
That would be really fun to see the words that have been "retired ".
Retired words..... that just sounds weird.
Words that no longer have any use, any meaning, any life. Hmmmmmmm
By the way.....
Cakehole is apparently a new version of "PIEHOLE", as in..... "be quiet and shut your piehole".
