River Road Trip Pix
Here's some of my favorite shots from our just-completed River Road mini-vacation.
Hope you enjoy perusing them.
Before I get to the pics, some interesting tidbits from our trip......
- we crossed the Mississippi River 8 times
- we visited the gravesite of the one, the only Julian Dubuque
- wifey was able to get her fill of Happy Joe's pizza
- we got lucky with the weather and hit 2 outdoor flea markets
- Antique Archeology ("American Pickers") in LeClaire has..... sadly..... gone very commercial; this visit wasn't near as fun as the first one a few years back
- the visit to "Frank Fritz Finds" in Savanna Illinois wasn't that impressive either, although some of his rare finds were really neat
- we found Dad a great Fathers Day gift
- the large old home housing "The Broken Spoke" antique shop in Clinton Iowa is stunning
- Village Inn restaurant (also in Clinton) is still making awesome pie
- the rolling hills of the scenic drive down River Road is wonderfully beautiful
Out for now......
