OUR FIRST HUNDRED YEARS

In 1953, my hometown turned 100.

THE KANSAS CENTENNIAL

Unbeknownst to me, they had special envelopes printed up, and the post office had a special cancellation stamp to use with those envelopes.

Well, look what I came across on eBay:

Can you believe it?

A 62-year-old envelope from little ol' Village of Kansas shows up for sale.

I was floored when I saw it.

The seller wanted $8.00 or best offer.

I shot a price of $4.99, and she took it!

I look forward to framing up this little piece of history for display in my office.

What a remarkable find.

Out for now......

Matt
