All These Oreos
“Any time you have a line extension, your main concern should be whether or not it’s going to be cannibalizing your mainline product."
(Darren Seifer, NPD Group)
I love Oreos! My favorite packaged cookie.
My preference...... yeah, I'm boring...... the original:
Oh..... and the "on steroids" version as well:
Double Stuf!
The Golden Oreos and Mint Oreos are good too.
The thing about all 4 of those? They are available in store-brand. Same taste, lower cost.
So..... what does Oreos do to keep customers interested?
To stay relevant?
To generate interest?
To build the brand?
They go a little crazy.
And that's just what they started a few years back.
You may have seen - or tried - some of these:
(would love to try these)
(really good!)
(yuck)
(double yuck)
Those are just a few of many examples!
Some of the others:
Swedish Fish
Blueberry Pie
Ice Cream
Gingerbread
Strawberry Shortcake
S'mores
Peanut Butter
Chocolate
Lemon
Cotton Candy
Brownie Batter
Root Beer Float
Cinnamon Bun
Mississippi Mud Pie
Firework
Jelly Donut
Waffle & Syrup
YEESH, right?
