Had a wonderful time up in downtown Chicago with our youngest 2 today. (next MattChat post will have a slew of pictures from our adventure)
One of the places that we dropped-into on State Street was a book resale shop where all proceeds go towards funding literacy activities of Chicago Public Schools.
While looking around their stacks, I spotted a little piece of Central Illinois:
Do you see it?
Upper shelf....... about 10 book from the left.
"AMISH"
There would be so many within the boundaries of the City of Chicago who would look across that shelf....... see "Amish"....... and have no clue what it was.
However, growing up in Central Illinois, "Amish" is a word we used frequently. And still do today every time we pass through the Arthur/Arcola area.
