Cardinal Payroll

Interesting news out of the baseball world........

The St. Louis Cardinals kicked off the 2019 season with one of Major League Baseball’s highest payrolls. The team’s total payroll of $163 million ranked No. 5 among MLB’s 30 teams, according to salary tracking website spotrac.com.

#5.  And big expectations this year.

This is an interesting big of trivia:
While the team’s payroll outpaces most of its competitors, the $20 million salary of the Cardinals’ highest paid player, catcher Yadier Molina, ranks just the 35th highest among MLB players.

Good to see that they are spreading the money around amongst many great players instead of loading such a high percentage of payroll on just a few.
