More Fast-Food Wackiness

I've got 3 early entries for the wackiest fast-food product introduced in 2020.

First, from McDonalds:

McDonald’s introduced a menu of new Quarter Pounder-themed merchandise earlier this week, including a locket full of burger photos and a pack of candles with scents including “100% Fresh Beef,” “Onion” “Ketchup” and “Pickles.”

Next, from KFC:

After a successful pilot last fall in select Virginia and Pittsburgh restaurants, the Louisville-based fast-food chain announced Thursday that the limited-time Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts will be released starting Monday, Feb. 24 at participating restaurants nationwide.

The sweet and savory meals are available as a sandwich – a chicken fillet between two warm glazed donuts – or as a basket with choice of tenders or bone-in chicken with one or two donuts depending on the meal.

And finally, Burger King:

Burger King’s latest sandwich has customers sharing some strong feelings online.

The item, called the Chip Butty, is controversial for one major reason: It’s basically just a french fry sandwich.

“With crispy golden fries, mayo and ketchup, nestled between two soft buns, His Royal Fry-ness, the CHIP BUTTY has arrived,” the fast-food chain’s description for the item reads.

OK, some MattChat feedback:

McDonalds:  the thought of being exposed to pickle-smelling air nauseates me  (and I though potpourri was bad!)

KFC:  the thought of donuts being fried in chicken/fry grease nauseates me  (worse yet:  it's a reheated frozen donut)

Burger King:  the thought of mayo on fries nauseates me

Best wishes with getting customer buy-in on these, folks.

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
