Rock and Roll in Joliet

I did not know this (until today, at least).

Illinois will soon be the home to a Rock & Roll Museum.

The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 has purchased a three story building in downtown Joliet, IL that is undergoing renovation.  The building will include exhibit space, a performance music hall and the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 Music Hall of Fame, gift shop, and it is the home of our Road To Rock Radio online streaming radio station.  All of this is made possible through museum memberships, private and corporate sponsors and donors and grants.  We are thankful for everyone's support in this historic mission to create a home for Illinois Music.  The building will be a place to house historic artifacts, honor musicians and bands with Illinois ties and educate visitors of our rich music history right here in Illinois.

Votes are being taken now for the first class of inductees into this brand-new Hall of Fame.

Nominees include:
Lionel Richie
Chicago
Survivor
Chuck Berry
Eddie Vedder
Cheap Trick
REO Speedwagon
Styx
......and others!

I'm very excited for this one to open;  it'll be on my "things to see" next time we are up the Joliet way.

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -

Matt
