Happy birthday Grandpa Johnny!
He's been gone for many years now, but the good memories still remain.
I remember it was about a 2 1/2 drive from our house to theirs. We'd leave early on a Saturday morning and get to their place around 9:30.
Chicken from KFC (usually).
All sorts of talk about the Cardinals (he was a huge fan).
His comfy chair sitting over in the corner of the living room -- covered in towels.
Taking a walk around his pond or down the lane to Uncle Kevin's house.
As we were getting ready to go, he'd do the "grandpa stretch", grab his wallet, and give me a bill.
Having a mind full of fun and happy family memories is such a blessing.
