Naomi Gets Paid

I don't follow tennis, so I'd not heard of Ms. Osaka until I read this article.

Tennis sensation Naomi Osaka has become the highest paid female athlete in history after earning $37.4 million over the last year, according to Forbes.

The 22-year-old amassed her staggering pre-tax total through a combination of prize money and endorsements, raking in $1.4 million more than Serena Williams over the last 12 months.

Osaka has now broken Maria Sharapova's previous record for a female athlete which was set in 2015 when she totaled $29.7 million.

Naomi Osaka was only a year old when Serena Williams won her first Grand Slam title in 1999. Nineteen years later, Osaka beat Williams at the U.S. Open final to win her first Grand Slam. It was one of the most controversial matches in Open history, involving three code violations called against Williams. Now the 22-year-old ace has beaten her legendary rival once again, this time for bragging rights as the highest-paid female athlete in the world.

Big, big, big, big talent.  Equals big, big, big, big bucks.

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
