Electric F-150
Ford has spent the last few years promising it will make an all-electric version of its extremely popular pickup truck, the F-150. Now the company is saying it will go on sale by the middle of 2022 — what’s expected to be the biggest year for new vehicle launches in decades, according to a new study from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
That release date means the F-150 EV will likely hit the road after electric pickups from a number of Ford’s rivals. Tesla’s Cybertruck and General Motors’ electric Hummer pickup are slated to be released in late 2021. EV startup Rivian is aiming to ship its first electric pickup trucks in early 2021 (alongside an electric SUV) after production was delayed by COVID-19.
Does a bunch of batteries inserted in the truck's frame make it less of a truck?
Will the die-hard truck buyers of America be willing to buy a hybrid?
Does "Hybrid F-150" sound a little cheesy and/or "less manly"?
Wonder what the price point will be?
Big questions to be answered. Ford's got a lot of invested $$ riding on this.
Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
