Cemetery Dogs

Spotted one of these in a local cemetery:

OK, I am trying to understand the point/purpose for posting this sign.

First thing that comes to mind...... poop.

The cemetery does not want irresponsible pet owners leaving Fido's doo-doo with the dearly departed.  I get that -- makes complete sense.

What else could be a reason though?

1) "sacred ground";  general concern about the cemetery being treated like a park (i.e. don't want a place of solitude to be disturbed by dogwalkers)

2) male dogs hiking a leg on the tombstones

3) Fido grabbing cemetery decor/flowers and dragging them around like a toy

4) dogs digging in fresh dirt

Anything else?

I suppose all 5 of those together make a pretty good case why canines have no place among the dead.

My next question:  how many dog owners actually take heed of the sign?  Or, is it ignored like so many other signs* are?

Grace & Peace & Love to you all -

Matt
