On Sunday mornings at Vintage Church, we are working our way thru the book of Judges.
We're approaching the chapters of Samson...... the most "famous" Judge of all of them -- to most people at least.
And the most challenged, conflicted and confused Judge of them all.
He was one odd dude.
Anyway, I thought it'd be fun to see some various portrayals of "strong & mighty Samson" utilizing a Google search. What a variety!
Why are they all white?
Pretty sure that's not accurate.
This is more how I picture Samson:
Although some Biblical scholars will argue that there was nothing unusual about Samson..... just an ordinary-sized Jewish man -- with long hair. They say nothing about him portrayed "strength", which is why the Philistine leadership was so confuzzled about why the guy was such a powerful dude.
Wonder what Samson and Zacchaeus would have looked like side-by-side?
