I have crossed it many times.
At least twice by car.
Once via bicycle.
Once on foot.
Dozens of times on train (MetroLink).
Once riding camel. (not really, although that would be cool)
Plus, I've flown over it (or very nearly over it).
And I'm pretty sure I've been under it on a riverboat cruise -- many, many moons ago.
It's a stunningly complex bridge. And a beautiful piece of architectural and engineering success!
Now 150 years old! How many other 150-year-old bridges are still in use across the USA? I'd venture a guess of way less than 200. Possibly as few as 50??
How much longer can it serve the STL metro area? It was built to last.
Grace & Peace & Love to you all -
Matt
