Covered Bridges

the wifey and I spent a fun day over in Indiana, tooling around at the Covered Bridge Festival.

started the morning in Veedersburg at an outdoor flea market.  Since it was drizzling, the crowds had not arrived and many of the vendors had not opened up for the day.  nonetheless, we found some pretty neat stuff.

speaking of Veedersburg, did you know this?

Next, we travelled southward and stopped at someplace called "Steam Corner", an outdoor vendor fair.  I guess Steam Corner use to be a railroad stop back when a railroad ran thru that area.  The place has a Veedersburg address now.  Saw a very cool man purse ("murse") here... made out of a raccoon hide.  Maybe that'll be a purchase next year.... if murses catch-on.

Nearly famished, we grabbed lunch at our favorite Parke County restaurant which is "Under the Arch" in Marshall, Indiana.  Great food. Great service.  Great prices. Enchanting setting/decor.

The rest of the day was spent down in Bridgeton, which is our favorite Parke County town.

Lots of great shopping.  and some good bargains.  plus an amazing buttery, salty, cinnamony homemade pretzel that was (almost) to die for.

While in Bridgeton, I grabbed shots of some unique, interesting, informative (?) signage......

Signs of the bridges.  The Bridges of Parke County.

Fun Day.

Out for now.....
